Heritage Interior Natural Wall Paint – Graphenstone GCS

A natural lime, silicate and mineral based interior emulsion paint, a heritage and traditional paint for use on all interior walls (not just for lime plasters).

A modern ‘traditional paint’: An excellent paint to work as a ‘modern’ traditional paint for sympathetic restoration and renovation of older heritage or listed properties, but also able to deal with mixed surfaces both modern and old. Also available as GCS Exterior.

Many surfaces: It can be applied to most surfaces including, existing lime plaster, bare lime plaster, old lime paints, bare and existing gypsum plaster, old paints (lime, traditional or modern), or even unpainted wallpaper, brick, wood, tiles and metal.

This is an incredible natural wall paint, with great credentials. This paint is Cradle to Cradle SILVER standard, which is just amazing.

Easy to apply on plaster, gypsum, old paints, prefab and unpainted wallpaper, brick and many other surfaces. Just make sure your wall is free from flakey bits and clean before painting. This natural coloured wall paint has a lovely mineral matte finish that is both breathable and avoids condensation. Good washability, with excellent flexibility without cracking. This paint contains naturally occurring Graphene to help strengthen the paint, quite impressive.

Why use this paint over the normal Grafclean Emulsion? If you have anything other than ‘normal gypsum’ or ‘normally painted modern’ walls, then GCS Interior is a great choice for a interior paint. GCS interior is lime based, so better suited to lime and more traditional walls (than the normal Grafclean emulsion.)

GCS Interior vs Ambient Pro+ Photocatalytic? The Ambient pro has superior enviromenatal credentials, boasting Cradle to Cradle Gold. Ambient pro also absorbs CO2*, Sox, NOx and other VOC’s, as well as naturally inhibits viruses, mould and bacteria. However, less colours available vs the GCS Interior, and is slightly cheaper than the Ambient Pro.

Do I need a primer?
New lime plaster requires either 1 x coat of Graphenstone L42 Ambient Primer (L42 is a hybrid primer, which contains some acrylic) or a mist coat of Graphenstone Nevada white emulsion (which is acrylic free) or a mist coat of the this GCS interior if you want to stay acrylic free. Existing lime based coatings may be ok without a primer coat but Graphenstone  recommend the L42 Ambient Primer as it helps stabilise the surface.

What about bare gypsum plaster?
We don’t recommend L42 Ambient Primer for use on bare Gypsum Plaster, either a Mist Coat of Nevada or the of the Topcoat.
