Earthborn Wall Glaze is a clear, water-based glaze for interior use. Free from VOCs and acrylics, it’s designed as a more environmentally responsible option while still being incredibly versatile.
Use it before painting to help stabilise sandy or powdery surfaces. It can also be applied over Earthborn Claypaint to create a more durable, lightly washable finish*, or mixed with pigment to achieve decorative effects like colour washes, sponging, or even as a subtle interior wood stain.
*Please note: when used as a glaze over paint, the soft sheen of Wall Glaze may slightly alter the final appearance. It’s always best to test a small area first.
For best results when glazing, apply using a spray bottle and work from the bottom upwards to avoid drips. For decorative finishes, apply with a sponge.
Application Use as a stabiliser to firm up powdery surfaces like limewash or distemper (mix 1 part Wall Glaze with 2 parts water). As a glaze, it can be used to seal and protect painted surfaces (mix 1 part Wall Glaze with 3 parts water). For broken colour work, start by mixing Earthborn Pigment with around 100ml of water and leave it to soak for up to 30 minutes. Add more water if needed, then mix in Wall Glaze (1 part Wall Glaze to 4 parts solution). Apply using a sponge, brush or your preferred technique. For a colour wash, follow the same method as above, then apply the mix over a dry emulsion base using a brush or natural sponge. Blend if needed with a dry brush, working diagonally from a top corner. For a softer, layered effect, apply multiple washes and vary the colours as you go.
Approx coverage: Up to 50m² per litre when diluted and used as a glaze.
